Illustration Class
On this page, you will see the various assignments I've been forc- I mean, gladly made through the duration of my time spent during the time of this illustration course.
Paint the Town Spooky
This project was to liven up the streets of stroudsburg during the halloween season by making spooky illustrations and hanging them up on the windows on the storefronts.

The images on the left show my process leading to the final piece. I initially started with a few sketches, chose my favourite sketch, then I would digitally remake the sketch, trying to add a painterly application through the digital media.

After finishing the digital version, I would then move on to using the actual paint using the digital version as a base, fixing anything I wished in the process. After some criticism, I added some water to make it feel more like a connected being rather than a floating head.
Narrative Transitions
Narrative transitions was a project where we would have to complete a series of images in a comic strip, using the same style of narrative provided by the strip.

The comics were relatively easy for me to mimic, however I did have some flaws replicating one art style and following one narrative transition. My process started with rough sketches, and then following it up with an improved pen trace.
Landscape Collage
By far my favourite project from this course. Basically, the assignment was to take various images provided to us, and we had to use 1 of each element, texture, and crystal to make a landscape.

My photo collage utilized the images to create an alien world with strange waters, with a view of another alien world in the background blowing up.
Landscape Colouring
This project was to take the provided black and white image of a swamp and to add colour to it. I added a soft swampy colour to it, as well as a little familar hutt in the background.
Painting with Light
I had a little problem with this project, but I managed to prevail. The assignment was to make a bioluminescent creature by only addition of colour, as if adding light.

To get this effect, I had to reduce flow and opacity of my brush and used a light blue colour to make this creature.
Sphere and Eggs
Hey, I didn't call the project this, my professor did. The assignment was to make these spheres or eggs and to give them shading. So, I made a heavily shaded green egg, a mildly shaded yellow egg, and a Dragon Ball. Not sure why, but I did.
Visual Metaphor
This assignment was to select an article provided by the professor, and to exaggerate the metaphor of the title or the article as a digital work of art. For my article, I chose one from the New Yorker, discussing how "Teachers in Texas are fighting for their lives" due to covid concerns. The left is an unused version, since the right fits the article more.
Book Illustration
This assignment was to create an illustration for an excerpt of a book that we were allowed to choose.

This specific moment was made to depict the near-parting of two lovers who spent their lives together. Fearing the loss of the other, they reached out and grabbed hands to be together through disaster.
